On June 4–5, 2025, the Biopesticides Europe 2025 congress in Madrid brought together leaders in sustainable pest control, from agriculture and research to policy and industry. Key topics included scaling up biopesticides for commercial use, their integration with precision agriculture, and regulatory frameworks.
Our project was represented and presented by Dr. Julián Calleja Cabrera, a member of AINIA’s Industrial Biotechnology team. His presentation focused on the fundamentals of RNA interference (RNAi) and its potential as a next-generation, nature-based biopesticide. While project results are not yet available, our researcher provided attendees with a clear overview of the project’s scope, its objectives, and expected outcomes. By combining an in-depth explanation of one of our solutions and the project goals, we generated wide interest in CITRUSBUSTERS.
